Walking Tour

Jon took me on a walking tour of lower Manhattan, getting a native's eye view of the neighbourhood.

I love these brownstone buildings with their fire escapes - they always put me in mind of any number of films, specifically people chasing each other up them, escaping from alley to rooftop or vice-versa, plummeting the final few metres on those drop-down telescoping ladders.

Andre the Giant has a posse. Obey!

This was taken outside a shop that sells equipment (including life-size gimmick sidewalk mascots) to the catering trade. Wizard!

Apparently this old synagogue has been / is being converted into apartments - imagine having that window in your living room.

This yellow sign might go some way towards explaining the excessive exuberance of the (recently-halted) American bull market...

And finally, a shot of Christopher Walken. Wearing an apron. Smoking a carrot. You gotta love it.
