Exclusive(ish): Plaid playing tonight in Nishi Azabu

Urgent clubbing alert: Are you free tonight (Monday October 31st)? Get down to Bullet's in Nishi Azabu to see Plaid, everybody's favourite British minimal techno duo they've never heard of.

Seriously, though, these guys are ace. I saw them at Electraglide a few years ago and they were awesome. The music's great, actually very dancy at times, and their visuals were fantastic. Not sure what kind of set they'll be doing tonight, but I plan to find out.

Starting from 9ish, a little bird tells me. See you there... Thanks to skab/t for the tip!

Ah, Plaid! *My* favourite minimalist electronic group I've never heard of. Really very jealous - have a great time!

Yar, they rockest. 'Twas a veritable laptop techno masterclass, as hoped.

The "club" was actually a bar the size of a small living room, with just a table along one side for the decks and assorted equipment, behind which stood Plaid. There were only a few dozen people there, so everyone just crowded up to the table and watched them go at it, while bobbing along approvingly to the tunes. Any one of us was close enough to reach over and reboot their iBook.

And the entire place was carpeted, which is rather rare, and this being Japan, it was thus a case of "shoes off at the door" - artists and punters alike. I've decided I like dancing in my socks.

Got a couple of keitai photos, will post'em later if they come out ok...

Not sure. It's not some official tour, I don't think, so maybe not. But I will check with my sources...
